Sureela Ensemble

The Sureela Ensemble offers workshops, lecture-demonstrations and performances educating audiences on the cultural, musical and kinesthetic aspects of dance. An assembly performance or workshop generally includes:

• A presentation about Indian art and culture and the history of kathak dance

• Explanation, demonstration and class participation to underscore the main principals of the dance form

• A storytelling segment that brings together cultural and performative elements through a relatable story based in Hindu mythology
